About Quote Watchdog

Quote Watchdog is a free quote checker for Australians. It was built by JP, a Gold Coast body corporate chair who got tired of seeing homeowners and committees overcharged. One lift quote for a building came in at $80,000. A second company quoted $40,000, and the first then more than halved its price.

That shouldn't take luck. So this tool reads your quote, tells you honestly whether the price looks low, reasonable or high (or that it can't tell), what's missing, what to ask, and what the public record says about the business.

How we stay independent

• We don't sell leads or pass your details to tradies.
• We don't take money from tradies, builders or quote platforms, and we don't show their ads next to your results.
• We're not connected to any quote platform or directory.
• If we ever run ads, it's only to cover the running costs of the tool.

What we don't do

We don't inspect work, value property or give legal or financial advice. We never make accusations about a business: we show what the public record says, with a link, so you can check for yourself.
